Everyday Geography Leads to Active Citizenship
Angela Curley
Context: MEd Year 3 Elective: Heritage, Citizenship & Sustainability
This piece of scholarship has its roots in developing self-efficacy in primary student teachers within the social studies context. The students indicated a lack of confidence in teaching around heritage, citizenship and sustainability in their placements, so I decided to ask the students if they were willing to engage their school placement with some wider practical and educational aspects of being at school. As indicated on the poster, the process was theoretically framed, a short questionnaire was completed and the activity to promote discussion was concept bingo.
